Give Back To Our Own Fund

June 5, 2018 Wellness for Cancer establishes fund to take care of our own. We are seeking donations, and locating spas that can host spa and wellness industry professionals who are touched by cancer with an opportunity to reconnect and heal.  As a 501 c(3) charity, we are seeking sponsorships as well to help with travel arrangements.

We are grateful to #Spas Pushing Limits for their support in our fund and cannot wait to send our colleagues to wellness centers...

Events at Cancer Centers

We host events at cancer centers that range from 15 people to 150 people.  Each participant receives two spa services when they attend a yoga, mindfulness, or meditation class.  We also personally deliver boxes that contain either skin and body care products to manage cancer treatment side effects or a mind body kit of affirmation cards and a meditation CD.

Retreats

We host several retreats throughout the year that leverage the true integration of mindfulness and spa. Various mindfulness and meditation teachers lead retreats at various locations and work with individuals needing a little extra care in a private immersion at our wellness facility in Eagle, Colorado.  Each immersion or retreat leverages the talents of spa and wellness volunteers ranging from health coaching, spa services, yoga, and art therapy.

Mind Body Tools

Through the help of funding from Susan G. Komen Colorado we have been able to develop a Sound Healing Meditation CD and Mindfulness Workbook for the Latino community.  The CD was developed and produced by Felix Lopez, meditation and mindfulness teacher. Julie Bach, Executive Director of Wellness for Cancer developed the workbook based on breathwork, yoga, and body scan for calm.  Since 2012, the CD has made its way through out Colorado and in to Spain, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
